Curriculum-based language and cooking courses for school and home learning students.
Cooking Lingo was created in response to the needs of school teachers during the recent lockdowns. Unable to conduct our cooking classes within schools, we shifted our focus to online learning with the hope of reaching every school in Australia.
Adapting the unique elements of our incursion-based teaching methods, we have designed a range of interactive language & cooking programs that support teachers in adopting a CLIL approach – empowering students with cooking skills as they learn a language.
Our interactive language and cooking courses are based on the NSW Department of Education’s syllabus outcomes for languages, focusing on primary and high school students.
Our Experience
We have been teaching language and cooking classes to NSW students for 16 years and have taught in excess of 80,000 students in more than 250 schools.
Meet Chef Luca
Chef Luca is from Verona, Italy and grew up in the Valpolicella region on his family’s beautiful vineyard where he was surrounded by exceptional food, wine, and culture.
Luca’s family taught him the importance of cooking authentic, quality Italian food and much of his adult life has been devoted to his personal journey of exploring the culinary secrets of his ancestors.
The tools he developed during his early days of teaching the Italian language to Australian school students have been refined over the last 16 years to be integrated into the programs we provide today.
Luca teaches all of our interactive language & cooking courses – he knows how to capture the attention and interest of students and is an energetic and engaging teacher.
Interactive Online Language & Cooking Courses
Cooking Lingo was created in response to the needs of school teachers during the recent lockdowns. We have been working in NSW schools since 2006, providing language and cooking courses for foreign language students.
Tailored for the most popular languages taught in NSW schools, our traditional classes include Italian language & cooking, French language & cooking classes as well as German language, Spanish language, Japanese language, and Chinese language & cooking.
We have taken the most successful elements from our face-to-face classes and have created unique interactive online courses that engage school students in learning a language while also learning an important life skill – how to cook a dish.
The online language & cooking courses combine multiple video modules with interactive quizzes that are based on the NSW Department of Education’s curriculum along with our extensive experience teaching students in schools.
Our language & cooking courses have always been taught based on the CLIL method and are perfect for TAS programs. Developed from our many years of face-to-face teaching, our online courses take this to the next level.
